He sent a message requesting a date – then a photo of himself standing under the end terrace notice board pointing at her.

Amused, Louise agreed to meet, and two years later she and the foreman of the upholstery company Mick were approaching their big day.

Louise, 51, who works for AW Lymn – The Family Funeral Service in Long Eaton, Derbyshire – said: “Mick contacted Facebook after sharing mutual friends.

“He asked me if I wanted to go out for a while. At first, I didn’t think much about it. Then the next day I got another message.

“To my surprise, it was a photo of him under the Lymns billboard I was in. I found it hilarious.

“The photo was the reason I agreed to let him take me out. We have the same sense of humor.

Special permission was granted for the wedding to take place in the chapel of the funeral home where Louise works.

She said: “We will be the first couple to get married there and I am very grateful that we are allowed to do so.

“We are really very happy together and we can’t wait to have a Christmas wedding

We’ve been right from the start and to meet like we did is an amazing story.

Chris Anastasi of Starlite Outdoor, who produced the billboard, said, “We can’t believe our billboard was the catalyst for a love affair! “
